A Clockwork Orange, the 1971 dystopian crime film based on the Anthony Burgess’s 1962 novella of the same name. Famously withdrawn from UK distribution at Kubrick’s request in response to allegations that it was responsible for copy-cat violence. This poster is by the celebrated Professor Bill Gold, who is responsible for some of the classic film posters of the 20th century (Casablanca, Alien, My Fair Lady etc). What you see here is the UK release quad – presented in portrait style – the film was only released for 6 weeks giving the UK poster its rarity. The American release single sheet is easier to source (get in touch), for slightly less money, and does not have the slight folds that one has to accept with the UK quad – but it is not a ‘Country of Origin’ original product.
